I want to introduce myself as the new editor at Christian Concert Alerts and tell you a little about myself and how I got here.
My love for concerts began when I saw DC Talk and Michael W. Smith perform live at a Billy Graham Crusade in 1996. I wasn’t expecting to see a music concert, nor to be packed like a sardine in a huge arena with thousands of enthusiastic people. The atmosphere was exhilarating, and it gave me a taste for live concerts and the Christian spiritual experience that goes along with them.
During my middle and high school years, I saw countless Christian bands perform. As I phased into college, my musical tastes began to broaden, but my appreciation for Christian music remained steadfast. I remember attending a Casting Crowns concert in late 2009. I was going through a difficult time in life, and the concert had a strong impact on me. What stuck out the most was not the actual music, but the message spoken by lead singer Mark Hall. I still remember his words, “Stop trying to discover your future, and start following Christ where he leads you.” Today I can see how those words have led me to where I am.
While in the past, I have viewed live events from the front of the stage, more recently I have had the opportunity to work backstage. My adventures started humbly, cleaning out Christian band Stryper’s tour bus, for example. Eventually, I moved on to bigger roles, including managing a concert tour on a bus with thirty people.
Through each of these experiences, I learned more about the music industry. While growing up, it was always frustrating not to have a comprehensive list of all upcoming events in my area. I probably missed out on many opportunities to see bands perform, just because I didn’t know they were in town. Now, I feel incredibly excited to be joining the AttendStar promotion and ticketing team, specifically serving you through CCA, as we strive to share as many events as possible from one platform.
I hope my passion for live events resonates with you as well. As editor, I want to provide you with even better news and content as you decide what concerts and events to attend in your area. Be on the lookout for even more updates and ways for you to get involved. I would love to hear from you, so please do not hesitate to contact me with any suggestions for our website or get concert alerts.
See you at a concert!
